What my job is: I am involved with all of the areas of study here at the Sirenia Project: radio telemetry, life history studies, photo identification, captive release program, international study programs.

What I like best about my job: I like doing the field work. That's when I get out with the manatees and find out what makes them tick. I like knowing that what we are doing is helping their survival. It's fun because the manatees are teaching me!

Advice for kids who are thinking of biology as a career: If you like biology, go for it. Do the things you like and enjoy doing regardless of the cost. Biology doesn't pay well, but it is gratifying.
