Guadalupe Island Map

The Mexico Great White Shark Expedition visits the Guadalupe Island. This small island is located in the North Pacific Ocean off the coast of Baja California, Mexico.

Guadalupe Island or Isla Guadalupe is the top of a submerged volcano. It is off the continental shelf and rises up from sea floor 12,000 feet underwater to a height of 4,257 feet above sea level.

Only about 150 people live on Isla Guadalupe. These people are mainly Mexican abalone and lobster fishermen. Isla Guadalupe is located within a biosphere reserve so anyone visiting the island must obtain a permit from the Mexican government.
