Crash! Location: Honolulu, Oahu Day 9 by Wayne & Karen Brown

A short plane flight returned us to Oahu, where we first arrived in Hawaii about a week ago. We board our expedition ship Clipper Odyssey here. The ship is at the dock and the crew is getting it cleaned and loaded with all the food and equipment we will need during our expedition. The ship will be ready for boarding tomorrow so we will be staying over night at a nice hotel on the beach.

We had an excellent ride from the airport to the hotel! We were picked up in a huge limousine. This limo had all the cool stuff inside, like blacked-out windows, big sunroof, telephone, two TV's, fancy lights, etc. When we got out of the limo at the hotel people were staring at us. They probably thought we were some big movie stars!

We checked-in at the hotel and got a nice room overlooking the beach and the Pacific Ocean. We ran outside and discovered that the hotel is right on the beach! You step out of the hotel and into the sand! The water looks clear and warm. We would love to jump in the water and go snorkeling, but we have to get our computer fixed!

We take a taxi to the Apple store at the big, downtown shopping mall. At the Apple store we are told that the computer logic board is bad and it has to taken apart and fixed. We tell the repair guy that we have to have it tomorrow because we are leaving on our ship tomorrow! He says that it will take about a week to repair it and they don't have any computers they can loan or rent to us. We have to buy a brand new computer if we want to take one with us on our expedition! We are not happy about this, but we have to have a computer for our expedition, so we buy new one just like the one we already have.

The repair guy says that if he can get our computer to turn on he can download all the data from our old computer to our new computer. We hope this works because everything we need to do our Internet expeition is on that computer! We try to get the computer to turn on all afternoon. Unfortunately the store is closing, so we have to leave without getting anything transfered to our new computer! The repair guy tells us that the computer will be fixed in about a week and sent back to our home in California. This means that we can't put up the expedition on the Internet until we return home!

Well, we will still bring our expedition to you, but it will be delayed until after the expedition is over and we are back in California. Keep checking with us for any updates.
